Effective February 1, 2025
At WABU, protecting your privacy is a core part of how we operate. Our approach to data is guided by several key commitments:
This Privacy Policy reflects and expands on these commitments in detail.
WABU is a live commerce agency specializing in TikTok Shop operations, creator management, and livestream selling across the Americas. We help brands scale their social commerce revenue through full-service campaign management, content production, and real-time analytics.
This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect when you use:
In this Privacy Policy, we refer to our websites, applications, and other products and services collectively as “Services.” The sections below describe how we collect, use, and share information about you, and outline the choices available to you regarding that information.
Portions of this Privacy Policy are made available under a Creative Commons Sharealike license. You may adapt and reuse this policy for your own purposes, provided you modify the language to accurately reflect your own data practices.
We collect information about you only when there is a clear purpose – such as delivering our Services, communicating with you, or improving the experience we offer. This information comes from three sources: directly from you, automatically through your use of our Services, and from third-party sources.
The type and volume of information we collect depends on how you interact with our Services. Below are common examples:
When you create an account, we ask for essential details like your name and email address. You can choose to share additional information, but it is not required to get started.
If you maintain an account, we store whatever you add to your public profile – including photos, bios, and other details. Because this information is publicly visible, please be intentional about what you choose to share.
When you purchase a subscription, service package, or other offering from us, we collect the personal and payment details necessary to complete the transaction – including your name, billing address, credit card information, and contact details.
If you connect your storefront or social commerce accounts to our platform, you may need to provide account credentials, site URLs, or financial details (such as a Stripe or PayPal email, or bank account information) so we can facilitate payments and campaign reporting.
Some of our Services involve content creation or publishing. Any personal details you include in that content – such as biographical information in a profile or campaign brief – become part of the data we hold, and may be visible to others if you choose to make that content public.
Certain Services may require you to share platform credentials (for example, TikTok Shop or dashboard login details). We also collect information you share when responding to surveys, subscribing to newsletters, reaching out to our support team, or contacting us with questions about a campaign or service.
Certain data is gathered automatically when you use our Services:
As with most online platforms, we record standard technical data that browsers, devices, and servers provide – including browser type, IP address, device identifiers, language settings, referring URL, access timestamps, operating system, and network details. This information is logged whenever you interact with our Services.
We track how you interact with our Services – for instance, pages visited, features used, campaigns launched, and performance metrics viewed. We also collect device-level data such as screen dimensions, mobile carrier, and device manufacturer. This helps us deliver, maintain, and improve our Services.
We may infer your approximate location from your IP address to understand regional usage patterns. If you grant permission through your device's operating system, we may also access more precise location data – for example, when you upload geotagged content.
With your permission, our apps may access files stored on your device – such as photos from your camera roll when you choose to upload media through our Services.
While you are signed in, we may collect data about your activity on partner or client sites that integrate with our platform– such as engagement actions and content interactions– to help personalize your experience and surface relevant recommendations.
Cookies are small data files stored on your device by your browser. Pixel tags (web beacons) are lightweight code snippets embedded in web pages and emails. We use these technologies to recognize returning visitors, understand usage patterns, measure the performance of email campaigns, and serve relevant advertising.
We may receive information about you from external sources. For example, if you sign in through a third-party service (such as Google) or link a social media account, we receive basic profile data through that service's authorization flow. We may also obtain contact information from third-party data providers for marketing purposes, in compliance with applicable law.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
If you are in the European Union, our processing of your information relies on one or more of the following legal grounds under EU data protection law: (1) It is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you, including our Terms of Service and account administration; (2) It is required to comply with a legal obligation; (3) It is necessary to protect your vital interests or those of another individual; (4) We have a legitimate interest– for example, to operate, improve, and secure our Services, communicate with you, evaluate our marketing, and personalize your experience; or (5) You have provided your explicit consent.
We never sell your private personal information. We share data about you only in the specific scenarios described below, and always with appropriate privacy protections in place:
We may share your information with our subsidiaries, employees, and contractors who need access in order to deliver or support our Services. All such parties are required to handle your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We work with external vendors who require access to your information in order to provide services to us or directly to you. These include payment processors, fraud prevention services, email and communication platforms, hosting providers, analytics tools, and marketing partners. All vendors are contractually obligated to uphold appropriate privacy and data protection standards before we share any information with them.
We may disclose your information in response to lawful requests such as subpoenas, court orders, or other government inquiries.
We may release information when we have a good-faith belief that doing so is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of WABU, our users, or the public.
If WABU is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar corporate transaction, your information may be among the assets transferred. In such a case, this Privacy Policy would continue to govern how your data is handled by the receiving party.
We may share your information when you explicitly authorize us to do so – for instance, when you connect a third-party social media or commerce platform to your WABU account.
We may share data that has been aggregated or de-identified to the point where it cannot reasonably identify you. For example, we may publish general usage statistics or share hashed identifiers to support advertising across other platforms.
If you interact with a client or partner site that integrates with our Services, certain account information (such as your IP address and email) may be shared with the administrator of that site.
If you submit a support request or share feedback with us, we reserve the right to publish that communication (in anonymized or summarized form) to help address your issue or assist other users.
Content you choose to make public – including your profile, posts, and engagement activity – is visible to others and may be indexed by search engines or accessed by third parties. Please consider this before sharing any information publicly.
We retain your information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. For example, server logs (which include data such as IP addresses and browser types) are typically kept for approximately six months to support traffic analysis and troubleshooting. If you delete content from your account, it may remain recoverable in backup systems for up to thirty days before being permanently purged.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take robust measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. These measures include continuous monitoring for vulnerabilities and proactive threat detection. We also recommend enabling two-factor authentication wherever available to further secure your account.
You have several options for managing your information:
You can decline to provide optional account details, profile information, or billing data. Note that some Services may have limited functionality without this information.
Your mobile device's operating system allows you to revoke permissions for location access, file storage, and other data our apps may request. Revoking these permissions may limit certain features.
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the link provided in each message. Even after opting out, we may still send transactional and legal notices related to your account.
WABU does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals. However, most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Be aware that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of our website.
You may close your account at any time. Please note that some information may be retained after account closure as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
Depending on where you are located, including jurisdictions covered by the GDPR, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data. Subject to applicable exemptions, these include:
In most cases, you can exercise these rights directly through your account settings. For additional requests, see the Contact Us section below. EU residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
For questions about this Privacy Policy or to exercise any of the rights described above, please reach out to us at hello@wabulive.com.
CalOPPA requires commercial websites and online services that collect personally identifiable information from California residents to maintain a clearly posted privacy policy. This requirement applies to any US-based operator, regardless of where they are headquartered. Learn more at: consumercal.org.
WABU operates across the Americas, so your data may be processed or stored outside the European Economic Area (EEA) by our team members or authorized service providers. When transferring data outside the EEA, we implement appropriate safeguards, including:
Contact us if you would like more details about how we protect data during international transfers.
Some advertisements and analytics on our Services are provided by external networks. These providers may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect data about your activity on our platform and across other sites. This enables them to build usage profiles, measure content performance, and deliver more relevant ads. This Privacy Policy governs only the data WABU collects directly – it does not extend to the practices of third-party ad or analytics providers.
Our Services may integrate with or link to third-party tools, plugins, or platforms. When you use these integrations, you may share data with those third parties. We do not control their privacy practices, so we recommend reviewing their policies independently.
We may process data about visitors to our clients' websites or storefronts on their behalf, as outlined in our service agreements. This processing is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We encourage our clients to publish their own privacy policies that accurately reflect their data practices.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email or through a notice on our website. Continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
